ROAD WITHOUT SHOULDERSÂ Photo Essay from Israel It’s narrow, it’s hot, everything is on the road. You can’t stop … you can only go forward … And I absorbed everything that I encountered along the way. Everything on the way is so authentic – you can feel, smell, hear, see and touch it. Ordinary moments that revealed to me the obvious and hidden feelings, beliefs and hopes of individuals. Precious moments of peacefulness, of contemplation, of joy, of terror. Ingredients of life, so small, so insignificant, that no one seems to appreciate them. Life goes on undisturbed, without anyone paying special attention to these small moments. Up close, I experienced them – hidden, related, faceless, humane – just as they always were. The photographes were taken in the summer of 2014, mostly in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. My intention not to disturb the “already-there atmosphere” with my presence and thus to capture the people in their most natural state led me to the experiment photographing without looking through the lenses.
DANCEABLE SPACES 1 How do we perceive spaces? Is it possible to consciously change the quality of a space? To what extent can people integrate themselves into a space? In these photo projects, I observe the concrete and abstract relationship between people and space. In doing so, I want to inspire dancers to explore space and express their insight through movement. Thanks to the dancers Laura & Martha!
Man & Nature Photo Essay The topic MAN & NATURE has developed from my street walks with the camera. The extent to which humans are intruding on nature and increasingly restricting and damaging it through their actions simply cannot be overlooked.
The Dancer Photo Series Dance photography remains for me a fascinating field full of new discoveries and joy. How gracefully and expressively people can move! Music, movement and form merge together. For me, dance is the embodiment of pure beauty combined with freedom. The eye and the camera are enchanted by this moment. Two parallel worlds of dance that meet each other through the eye of the spectator, two worlds that speak one language and form a visual unity, is the theme of this photo series.
